An article about the rising price of pork? It is certainly true that the price has soared. Last year there was an outbreak of Blue Ear disease and many pigs were slaughtered and destroyed. Then the recent catastrophic weather has sent food prices soaring.
No. It is nothing to do with that. In fact, what you are seeing is not meat at all. It is stone. Lumps of stone which look like something else are highly prized here. Liuzhou is famous for its stones and holds regular International Fantastic Stone Festivals.
I’ve never seen stone pork before, though. But here is a complete stone banquet!
